Since the weather was cloudy, the scheduled solar observation was cancelled. Meeting started at around 3:00pm with ALP President James Kevin Ty substituting Peter Benedict Tubalinal in tackling the August 12-13 Perseids meteor shower as well as the August 28 Total Lunar Eclipse . He discussed on some facts on the Perseids & how to observe & photograph the meteor shower. Same goes for the lunar eclipse event. Both events will be observe by members of ALP at the roof deck of PAGASA Observatory.

ALP director Rich Pijuan is all smile as she receive her 2nd runner-up trophy from ALP director Alfonso Uy in the just concluded ALP 3rd 9 Ball Billiard Tournament held last July 15 at Playdium Bowling and Billiards Center in Quezon City.
Brian Davis. received the 1st runner up trophy  on behalf of ALP director Edward Eli Tan. "  Gosh, this should be mine if I have not backed out from the event due to last minute changes!  Anyway, I will be next year's champion!  Watch out James! :) LOL	ALP president James Kevin Ty receive his championship trophy from ALP director Alfonso Uy.  This is his 3rd back to back championship run for 3 years in a row.

Afterwards, ALP director Alfonso Uy presided on the awarding ceremony of the recently concluded July 15 ALP 9 ball billiard tournament  in which ALP President James Kevin Ty was crowned champion by besting fellow director Edward Eli Tan 7-2 in the race to 7 finals. Director Rich Pijuan got 3rd place. Congratulations to the winners. 

Lastly, James tackled also the August 12 ALP 1st Bowling Tournament at Playdium Bowling & Bllliard Center in Quezon City. The rules were discussed & as follows: 

1. The 1st & 2nd elimination round will be played in 2 heats. The highest score of the 2 heat will be used to determine if he/she will advance to the next round. Second round same format as first round. 

2. The top 4 high scorer of 2nd round will play for quarterfinals round for another 2 heat to determine top 2 players to advance to final round. The next 2 will play for 3rd place. 

3. In the finals round,  2 heats will again be play but this time, both games will be added to get final score to determine this year champion. This rule is also applied on the fight for 3rd place. 

4. Registration fee of P500/ participants will be charged for the event. 1st , 2nd & 3 placers will get glass trophies with the champion getting an additional P1000 prize.

 Then, James say the September meeting will be held on September 16 (Sunday) 12pm at Alice's residence. This will be merged with ALP 4th year anniversary & Mooncake Festival Dice Game wherein the top prize is an 80mm Binoculars. Registration fee is P500 / participant.

The meeting ended at around 5:00pm.
