Guest Mr. Yoshikatsu Chikira and  Ms. Jojo  Doliente of Sun East Asia Corporation  joined ALPers at Boardwalk to observe the partial solar eclipse with the IYA-NOC sponsored Galileo Scope.

Members of Manila Planetarium also joined ALPers in setting up their scope to observe the eclipse.

A battery of ALP telescopes were trained at the Sun prior to first contact!

Mrs. Chikira was also there to join Mr. Chikira as well as staffs  of Sun East Asia Corporation   to observe the partial solar eclipse .

ABS-CBN video crew were also at the Boardwalk to join ALP in documenting the partial solar eclipse.

ALP president and upcoming ALP China Total Slar Eclipse expedition team leader was there to document the eclipse as well as use the event to make  a dry run for  the ALP eclipse team members.

ALPer Andrew Ian Chan brought along his new telescope to test it at eclipsed Sun.

ALP President James Kevin Ty refocus his setup as he decided to changed back to prime focus before the Eclipsed Sun sets behind a large freighter.  His earlier setup wth 2x barlow lens almost fill the whole camera frame!

ALPer Alfonso Sy was seriously observing the eclipse Sun prior to sunset.  Note that solar filter was removed because the Sun was already very low in the horizon.  But  a SOLAR FILTER MUST BE INSTALLED AT ALL TIMES ON NORMAL SOLAR OBSERVATION SESSION .

ALP upcoming July total solar eclipse expedition team leader James Kevin Ty was satisfied with the results of their first dry run practice.  Good job ALPers!!!
