November 28, members of the Astronomical League of the
Philippines (ALP) setup at AstroCamp Observatory at SM
Mall of Asia at Pasay City to observe the Penumbral
Lunar Eclipse. Members who were there to help out
were ALP PRO Armando Lee, wife Myra and son Jason Lee; Gary
Andreassen with wife Irma and son Steinar; Mark Ian
Singson and GF Cristina ; Arnel Campos, Mark Vornhusen,
Jan Karlo Hernandez and Sheldon Espartero.

Gary with his Celestron C6N Newtonian reflector on Orion
SVP EQ-5 mount, Mark with his 1000mm f/10
Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope on sturdy tripod , Arnel
with his Celestron C130 Newtonian reflector on EQ01
mount while Mark Ian SIngson brought along a Meade 70mm
refractor on sturdy altazimuth mount.
The sky was
clear whole night and they had a great time showing more
than 200 people the views of the penumbral lunar
eclipse.

Meanwhile in
Legaspi City, ALP President James Kevin Ty was invited
by Rome Candaza to have a talk on chasing eclipse
for the Karangalan's Lunar Eclipse Day at
Penaranda Park in Legaspi City, Albay. After the
lecture, James and Rome together with his brothers setup
several telescopes to give a free public viewing of the
penumbral lunar eclipse at the park. More than 500
people were given free views of the eclipse as well as
free lecture on eclipse. James also use the
opportunity to use his Canon EOS 500D with Canon
EF100-400mm f / 4.5-5.6 IS L lens on sturdy tripod to
image the eclipse from start to end. He was also
interviewed by local Legaspi ABS-CBN news reporter and
the interview was featured in the evening and next day
news.
