Last February 9, members of the Astronomical League of the Philippines (ALP) went to Caliraya , Laguna to have their monthly weekend stargazing session under dark sky.   Members who were present were ALP President James Kevin Ty, Per Edman and his son Oliver ; Manuel Goseco and his son ; Michael Thomas with wife Leah and son.

They individually proceeded to the site at their own pace but mostly arrived at the site at around 6:00pm. The sky was partly clear. James brought along his Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS L lens on Vixen GP-DX mount with ATIK-16HR ccd camera as well as Vixen Polarie Star Tracker ; Manuel Goseco with his Celestron C6N Newtonian reflector on CG4 mount ; Per Edman with his Canon lenses as well as Samyang 800mm f/8 Mirror Lens on Vixen Polarie Star Tracker ; Michael Thomas with his Meade 12" LX200 SCT.

Unfortunately, drizzles  come and go thus James decided not to do any imaging but do casual observation with fellow ALPer Manuel's Celestron C6N reflector with other members of the group.  Michael also didn't setup his 12" SCT as well :(  Michael brought along his Collin's I3Piece image intensifier eyepiece and connected to the telescope to view the fainter region of M42.  This cool gadget is best used to observe fainter DSOs rather than bright DSOs.  Despite the weather condition, Per was able to get some shots odd with his portable setup.

They left in the morning and eat breakfast at Jollibee Pagsanjan before heading home and looking forward to next month's stargazing session again.
