March 9, 2014 ALP Monthly Meeting Report

Last March 9 , members of the Astronomical League of the Philippines (ALP) held their monthly  meeting at Manila Planetarium.  Members who attended were ALP President James Kevin Ty  wife Chat and son Kendrick Cole KC Ty ; VP Jett Aguilar, Secretary Christopher Louie Lu, Treasurer Andrew Ian Chan, directors Peter Benedict Tubalinal,  Mike Enage, Iah Serna, Mark Ian Singson, Norman Marigza, Marlon Monzon, Aileen Rose Sasot and Nel Lagda.

Meeting started at around 3:00pm with ALP Secretary Christopher Louie Lu proceeded by sharing a nice video entitled Hubble World.  It was then followed by ALP Treasurer and NAW Chairman Andrew Ian Chan giving a  good run down on the recently concluded 2014 National Astronomy Week as well as 7th  International Sidewalk Astronomers Network (ISAN 7).

Lastly, NAW director and Messier Marathon chairman Peter Benedict Tubalinal  then discussed ALP's final preparations and plans for the March 29, 2014 Messier Marathon event at Caliraya, Laguna.  Meeting ended at around 5:30pm.

ALP Treasurer / NAW Chairman Andrew Ian Chan gave an overview of the recent 2014 NAW as well as the just concluded ALP ISAN 7 free public stargazing session at Rajah Sulayman Park.	NAW director and Messier Marathon chairman Peter Benedict Tubalinal  then discussed ALP's final preparations and plans for the March 29, 2014 Messier Marathon event at Caliraya, Laguna.
ALP VP Jett Aguilar also proposes several new research plans that ALP can undertake this year.	ALP President James Kevin Ty invited members and guests to join the Messier Marathon event regardless of age and  affiliations.
