May 4, 2014 ALP Monthly Meeting Report

Last May 4 , members of the Astronomical League of the Philippines (ALP) held their monthly  meeting at Manila Planetarium.  Members who attended were ALP President James Kevin Ty  wife Chat and son Kendrick Cole KC Ty ; directors Mike Enage & John Ray Cabrera ; Ronald Sison, Justine Garcia, Edge Lat, Manuel Goseco, Marlon Monzon, Liza Quitlong , Nel Lagda and new member Harvard Quezon.

Meeting started at around 3:30pm with a formal member's introduction on how they got interested in astronomy as well as their current line of work. This was followed by ALP director Mike Enage presenting a good lecture on how to process deep sky objects using the most common image processing software in the market which is Adobe Photoshop.  Mike started explaining on why the need to process the astro image we acquired through our DSLRs and the correct way to process it to enhance the image details to make it come out astronomically beautiful!

Afterwards, ALP President James Kevin Ty then invited the members to join the next Caliraya stargazing session which will be held on May 31, 2014.

Meeting ended at around 6:00pm
