October 5, 2014 ALP Monthly Meeting Report

Last October 5, 2014, ALP held an informal afternoon get together meeting at Aristocrat restaurant in Roxas Blvd  to discuss on the plans for the upcoming October 8, 2014 Total Lunar Eclipse as well as preparations for the NAW 2014. Members who attended were ALP President James Kevin Ty, wife Charito and son Kendrick Cole KC Ty; VP Jett Aguilar, Treasurer Andrew Ian Chan and Iah Serna; Secretary Christopher Louie Lu and Mark Ian Singson.

It was discussed that due to the bad weather expectation for the upcoming October 8, 2014 Total Lunar Eclipse, there will be no public viewing session planned but ALPers will be setup in different areas of the city to get a better chance of not getting clouded out on this eclipse.

Likewise, ALP Treasurer Andrew Ian Chan presented  his proposed plans for the upcoming 2014 National Astronomy Week. Venues are being finalized and will be finalized during the November 9, 2014 Monthly Meeting at Vikings Restaurant.

Other topics discussed during the meet are astro gears updates and upcoming Caliraya stargazing sessions for the duration of the year. Meeting ended at around 5:30pm
