June 7, 2015 ALP Monthly Meeting Report

Last June 7, ALP held their monthly meeting at Exploreum at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.  Members who attended were ALP President James Kevin Ty and son Kendrick Cole KC Ty;  VP Jett Aguilar , Treasurer Andrew Ian Chan and Iah Serna;  Director Rich Pijuan , Shubhashish Banerjee and Manuel Goseco.

Meeting started at around 3:30pm with ALP VP Jett Aguilar giving a very informative lecture on solar observation,  This lecture was made to prepare the members for the upcoming June 21 International SUNDay free solar public viewing session at SMBY from 3:30pm-6:00pm.  Jett started with the basic features that are visible on the Sun through white light, hydrogen-alpha and Calcium-K wavelength.  He also discuss the safe methods of solar observations as well as discuss the parts of a hydrogen-alpha telescope.

Lastly, ALP President James Kevin Ty invited the members to participate on the June 21 International SUNDay event.  Meeting ended at around 5:15pm.
