June 26, 2016 ALP International SUNDay Free Public Solar Viewing Report

Despite an impending bad weather due to an incoming low pressure area near Philippines which has affected the weather, some members of the Astronomical League of the Philippines (ALP) which includes ALP President James Kevin Ty, Treasurer Andrew Ian Chan, Secretary Christopher Louie Lu, PRO Edge Lat, directors Iah Serna, Ronald Sison and member Miguel Cajita and parents Trix and Mel Cajita and sister Trisha Marie Cajita.

They ried their luck and hope for a break in the clouds and rain for them to conduct a free solar public viewing to the public in celebration of International SUNDay last June 26, 2016 at SM Mall of Asia By The Bay.

Unfortunately, weather didn't give them a chance after waiting from 2:30pm  to 5:00pm .  They can only see a faint sun glow from thin clouds passing over the Sun while drizzle rain continues to fell on them.

With no chance of rain and thick clouds stopping that afternoon,  they just concluded the event with some group shots before going to Starbucks and Sbarro to have astro discussions while sipping hot coffee and later dinner respectively before going home in the evening.

ALPers took time out at Starbucks after the conclusion of their free solar viewing event due to drizzling rain and thick clouds :(

After a long astro chat at Starbucks, they proceeded to Sbarro restaurant to have dinner before calling it a day.
