Last March 17, Astronomical League of the
Philippines (ALP) held its stargazing
session under the dark sky of Caliraya , Laguna.
Members
who were present are ALP President James Kevin Ty
and son Kendrick Cole KC Ty; Auditor Edgar Ang, directors
Peter Benedict Tubalinal , Ronald Sison & Alice
Villa-Real ; Kenneth Chua and family ; Mike Enage, Adi Bontuyan
and Dexter Cruz.
They arrived at the place more
or less around 5pm and started to set up their tents
and telescopes. James brought along his Canon EOS 1000D
(M) DSLR on Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS L lens
mounted on Kenko Sky Memo-R star tracker ; Kendrick with
his Canon EOS 500D with Canon EFS18-55mm on Vixen
Polarie Star Tracker ; Ronald with his William Optics
GT81 refractor on Skywatcher HEQ-4 mount ; Mike with his
TMB92 refractor on Stellarview MG2 mount ; Alice with
her Canon EOS 60D on sturdy tripod as well as Orion ST80
refractor ; Edgar with his Celestron Nexstar 90
refractor ; Dexter with his Orion 10" f/4.5 Newtonian
reflector on HEQ-5 mount.
The early evening was clear
with some occasionally drizzles that come and go but
after midnight, the sky was very clear and the Summer
Milky Way was a sight to behold! Members image and
observe while taking advantage of the clear sky.
Overall, it was a good night of observation and imaging.
