December 9, 2018 ALP Annual Meeting / Christmas Party Report

Last December 9, Astronomical League of the Philippines (ALP) held its annual meeting / Christmas party at Alice Villa-Real's residence in Quezon City. Members who were present are ALP President James Kevin Ty , wife Charito and son Kendrick Cole KC Ty; VP Jett Aguilar,Treasurer Andrew Ian Chan, Secretary Justine Garcia, Auditor Edgar Ang , directors Alice Villa-Real   , Peter Benedit Tubalinal, Ronald Sison with wife Adriel, sons Adrian and Ray , daugjhter Sison,; Alpha editor Francisco Jun Lao, Jr ;  Rich Pijuan, Adi Bontuyan, Renan Acosta, Fung Yu, Per Edman, Mike Enage, Edwin Gatia, Michella Esparas, Dexter Cruz,  Kenneth Chua, Mark Ian Singson .

Meeting started at 2pm for registration and cast ballot for new set of directors for 2019 as well as renewal of annual memberships. Members also brought some foods to share with fellow members (traditional Potluck.)  Nominees for election were ALP VP Jett Aguilar, Shubhashish Banerjee, Adi Bontuyan, Alfonso Uy and Alice Villa-Real.

ALP director Peter Benedict Tubalinal lead the prayer invocation before the start of their lunch.  Members used the opportunity to discuss and chat with fellow members till 6:00pm.  ALP President James Kevin Ty also announced the winners for the  new set of 2019 board of directors namely ALP VP Jett Aguilar, Alice Villa-Real and new director Asi Bontuyan.  Congratulations!  They will join incumbent directors ALP President James Kevin Ty, Treasurer Andrew Ian Chan, Secretary Justine Garcia, Auditor Edgar Ang, PRO John Ray Cabrera, Peter Benedict Tubalinal, Ronald Sison, Edge Lat and Shubhashish Banerjee.
