May 21, 2012 Annular Solar Eclipse

There will be an annular solar eclipse that will be
visible in parts of China, Japan and US on May 21 (May 20 in US) , A partial
solar eclipse , on the other hand will be visible in the Philippines during
sunrise of May 21, 2012. CAUTION: DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN WITHOUT
PROPER SOLAR FILTER OR IT CAN CAUSE PERMANENT BLINDNESS !!! The use of
a properly filtered solar filter should be used at all times to observe this
event!
A
solar eclipse occurs
when the
Moon passes between
Earth and the
Sun, thereby totally
or partially obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. An
annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon's
apparent diameter is
smaller than the Sun, causing the Sun to look like an
annulus (ring),
blocking most of the Sun's light. (Right) An image of annular
solar eclipse taken by ALP President James Kevin Ty last August 22, 1998 in
Pulau Dayang , Malaysia.

in Manila and annular solar eclipse in Xiamen , China are as follows
